If you are looking for a Fringe show that will not only have you in fits of laughter but one that will stun, fascinate and absolutely wow you, then this is it! ‘Primo Loco’ is the sister show of the 5 star recommended ’Fuego Carnal.’ Premiering for the first time last night, this incredible show blew the roof off with their wit, impressive skills, powerhouse vocals and astonishing acts. With the performers coming together from all corners of the world; Canada, UK, Melbourne to give you a show stopping night of boundless entertainment, this is a 2020 Fringe number you won’t want to miss!
‘Primo Loco’ began and ended with immeasurable energy. MC of the evening and performer, ‘The Mighty Gareth’, was a key player in keeping the audience engaged from start to finish. Having two Guinness World Records for chainsaw juggling (this gives you just a sneak into what he brings to the table) you will be utterly entranced as to what he can do with some very sharp and very dangerous tools! You will want to look away and close your eyes but you won’t be able to. The act is too good to miss, even with the possibility that he might just lose a finger or hand… Captivating wrapped up in a little bit of danger, ‘The Mighty Gareth’ definitely knows how to start off a show and well!
Next up was the dynamic duo ‘Dave Knox’ and ‘Grace Billings’ otherwise known as ‘Emotionosis’. Now normally I am not one to laugh hard at comical performances but when this duo danced onto the stage and began performing, I found myself in countless moments of giggles. Their acts were silly but eccentric. Ludicrous but oh so entertaining! I couldn’t stop watching them and was eager for what they were going to do next. ‘Grace’ was vividly talented when it came to twirling hula hoops around her body and throughout the air. She did it with such ease and speed that the applause just kept on coming! Their final act was one to be appreciated. Why you may ask? Well, I vote you go see it to find out!
‘Dado Dado’ was up there with one of my favourites of the night! With over 20 years of experience performing in more than 20 countries (wow) his comical performance was one to be applauded. Have you have ever been to a ‘Cirque Du Soleil’ show and witnessed the hilarious clowns they have entertain in between acts and they are whole heartedly hilarious?! This was exactly how ‘Dado Dado’ was. From the moment he stood on stage to the moment he left I was impressed. He was humorous, very likable and exceedingly engaging. Something worth noting for his performance, is if you are one of those people who like to be pulled up on stage to be a part of the act, then you might just want to sit up front when ‘Dado Dado’ appears. His act was unusual and brilliant all rolled into one. I honestly felt like I could have watched and laughed with and at him for hours. Brilliant!
The ‘Cirque Songstress’, ‘Christine Ibrahim’ and six-foot siren beauty ‘Phoebe Blue’ were as stunning in person as they were on stage. Their calibre of skill and ability to wow was cheered and praised by the audience. From the likes of playing with fire to creating magic through the air to singing the house down, these two ladies were debuting acts that made your jaw drop. They were powerful and intriguing. Wild and exquisite. They both absolutely deserved all the applause they received!
‘Primo Loco’ is a show that will blow your mind from start to finish! You won’t know what to expect when walking in and by the end, you won’t want it to be over. You will laugh and cheer. Want to cover your eyes and cringe. You will sit in silence and have to pick your jaw back up off the floor. It is as brilliant as it is entertaining and I would gladly go and watch it again without hesitation!
