An Irishman, American and some South Aficans walk into a bar. What happens next? The Perth Comedy Festival! The organisers are happy to announce the return of international talent to this years’ lineup with international travelers once again allowed into Western Australia. After years of pandemic-related hold-ups and setbacks, the show is well and truly back on. Yipee!!

But let’s not forget the local talent. Aussie’s such as Sam Campbell, Becky Lucas and Nazeem Hussain will contribute to the international offering. While local Perth talents: Daniel Delby, Colin Ebsworth, Grant Mushet, Simone Springer, Matt Storer, Fabian Woods and Jez Watts get an opportunity to grace the stage with a raft of domestic and international funny-people to accompany them.

Running from the 29th April to the 15th May, the Festival will showcase talented comedians and include over 50 shows at venues such as the Regal Theatre (Subiaco), Astor Theatre (Mt Lawley), the Rechabite (Northbridge) and Freo Social (Fremantle); so wherever you call ‘home’ there’s a show nearby!

Not sure if the comedy festival is for you? Well, I’ve got news for you, it is. With “performances from the finest Australian acts, the biggest international stars and the most promising emerging talent offering up everything from stand up to sketch, satire, impro, musical, absurdist, theatre, magic and kids comedy” I’m sure everyone could find a suitable show to attend. Over the entire fortnight, you can catch matinee sessions, dinner sessions, or late-nights if that’s more your style.
