Keeping it real in our City

Together we can Shave the world! World's Greatest Shave

Together we can Shave the World!

If you haven’t heard about The World’s Greatest Shave, you must surely be living under a rock! One of Australia’s biggest fundraisers, the iconic event raises vital funds towards the Leukemia Foundation, which supports individuals and their families living with blood cancer.

This year, the shave is being held from Wednesday the 13 th to Sunday the 17 th of March. With almost a whole week to get shavin’, there is no excuse not to get involved with this amazing community event.

I know some of you may be thinking- “But I don’t WANT to shave off my luscious locks!”. Well I hear ya! Not only does the shave encourage head shaving, it also supports any type of hair modification. From colouring your hair a wild and wacky colour to wearing a wig for the day - there is something for everyone.

If you have a man in your life (or are one yourself!) you can even participate by waxing certain areas- this could be your iconic mo’ or super-hairy chest. The possibilities are endless!

With local events aplenty, you can find your closest one at

For Northies like me, Wanneroo Salon Express are offering $12 hair braiding, $10 hair shaving and $5 hair colouring, alongside a raffle to win some stellar salon products on the 16 th of March.

For those living in the east, Bunnings Midland are hosting a $20 shave or $10 colour on the 17 th of March, make sure to grab your classic Aussie snag whilst you’re there!

If you live smack-bang in the middle, Perth CBD have you covered with two events both on March 15 th . Head over to Yagan Square or Gramercy Bar & Kitchen from 11am to get your shave on!

And if you have the luxury of living down in Margaret River, the local Bunnings will also be hosting their own shave on March 6 th , with raffles and super prizes
to be won.

Create your own event today by heading to, where you can participate as an individual or get your gang together to form a team.

If shaving isn’t your thing, why not sponsor your family or friends who are participating? Personally, I will be trying to convince my man to wax his hairy toes- wish me luck!

Cassie Hunter

I’m Cassie, an almost-23-year-old dog mum to one super-naughty jack Russell pup and a Perth girl through and through. One of my favourite places on earth is the beach, having never lived more than a 5-minute drive away!

I have a degree in event management, public relations and tourism and hospitality from Curtin University. My average week consists of planning killer events ranging from charity balls to product launches at the fabulous Known Associates Events. When I’ve got some downtime on my hands you’ll find me lazing around binging the hottest new thang on Netflix or totally engrossed in whatever paperback thriller I can get my hands on.

I absolutely live and breathe events and love getting the latest scoop on what’s happening on Perth. As an event manager myself, I can tell you there’s always something exciting going on in our city!
