Keeping it real in our City

The Vic Park Farmers Market – Your New Local Market

Walking into the newly relaunched Vic Park Farmers Market you might be forgiven for thinking you’re somewhere else. With the lilting sounds of an acoustic guitar and the murmur of people chatting in the background, the smell of fresh bread and even fresher coffee wafting on the breeze, the Vic Park Farmer’s Market is definitely the place to be every Sunday morning.

If you’ve visited in the past 4 years, then rest assured the new team have completely revamped the markets, and if you’ve never been before, well what are you waiting for?! These quint-essential farmers markets are exactly what you imagine a farmer’s market to be, but with a little something extra. I can think of only one thing to liken it to, and that’s community spirit.

That’s really what it’s all about isn’t it. I could sit here and tell you all about the amazing food vendors, the excellent cold brew coffee from Double Shotz, and the gorgeous selection of fresh produce and goodies, but that’s not the only thing that made these markets so memorable. It was the atmosphere. It was the folks of all ages learning from the Bollywood Dance Studio. It was the number of people camping out under the shade of the trees, just chatting and whiling away their Sunday. It was something special.

With a HUGE range of fresh produce, amazing freshly baked bread, seafood direct from the boat and expertly butchered meat from the team at GinGin Grass Fed Beef, this is definitely a go to for your weekly shop. Enjoy a sweet treat from one of the many bakery stalls and have a chat to one of the many incredibly knowledgeable staff at the giftwares, jewellery and plant stalls.

Oh and if you want to bring the kids? There’s entertainment for them and a bouncy castle! Want to bring the furry kids? Then there’s a special Dog Bar for them too. Oh, and be sure to swing by the Go Fetch Bakery for all your special doggy treats. No one has to miss out here!

Whether you’re after a new place to be your Sunday morning hangs, with greats eats and coffee or you’re looking for a new fantastically stocked farmers market to do your weekly shopping at- The Vic Park Farmer’s Market is it! On every Sunday from 8am – 12pm, with a plus-sized market on the first Sunday of each month.

You can find the Vic Park Farmer’s Market at the John McMillan Park, Kent St in East Vic Park. There’s plenty of parking and even a dedicated spot to park your push bikes! Make this your new regular market and I promise you won’t be sorry.

Stacey Dadd

Hey I’m Stacey! I’m just a Champagne swilling country girl living out my best life here in Toodyay with my stupidly tall hubby, my not so little, tornado of a toddler and a plethora of animals, including some very friendly sheep!

A country girl all my life I understand the values that come with living in a small town. That’s why you’ll find me at every local farmers market, agricultural show and tractor pull (yes we still have those!). That community spirit is what it’s all about for me!

I’m also a keen foodie (gluten free of course!) and I’m a mad baker! I look forward to showing off the best Perth and the Wheatbelt has to offer and maybe even enticing you out over those hills for a spell!
