Stretch + Flow - Yoga for Anyone + Everyone at Bloom Yoga, Kingsley

Step into the studio at Bloom Yoga and you’ll feel instantly at ease.

Sara, the owner has created a space that feels welcoming, warm and free of any pressure to be a perfect yogi. Making sure everyone has everything they need and is comfortable, Sara starts the class with a focus on breathing exercises and stretching. We move between gentle poses and some with more flexibility required, but nothing too strenuous for a newbie like myself (phew!).

While I’m not a ‘yogi’ by any means and far from an expert, I’ve been to my fair share of yoga classes in various studios around Australia. I’ve never felt like I quite fit in - with many classes full to the brim with those who had been doing yoga for so long that I felt like the class klutz. Bloom was different. A combination of the earthy feel of the studio, a down-to-earth instructor, a variety of props available and the energy in the room made me so much more relaxed and free of pressure than any prior attempts at yoga.

The studio has been designed with the outdoors in mind, from cork flooring, lots of plants and greenery, organic cotton and a cosy seating area when you enter the room. Take your shoes off at the door, get comfortable on your mat, take a deep breath, and relax into your favourite position before the class starts.

Bloom Yoga has been hosting classes in various halls and community locations since 2010, when local mama Sara offered classes for pregnant women and new mothers. Experiencing the many benefits of yoga firsthand during this time herself, Sara wanted to create a space where women could come together and connect. And in wanting to offer classes for a diverse group of students - Bloom also teaches classes for families as well as yoga for kids and teens.

As many of us would know, yoga is incredibly healing for so many different conditions and people at different stages of life. It’s incredible for people of all different sizes and shapes, different levels of fitness, from young to old, and offers a variety of classes to suit individuals needs. For those after something more challenging, Bloom offers a dynamic flow class which is creative, fluid and sometimes sweaty class - Vinyasa. If a slower pace, meditation and Yin + Restore yoga is more your thing (it’s definitely mine!) - you’ll find a home here at Bloom too.

And as Sara shared, “I feel like yoga has a super sneaky way of helping to find our inner strength, and helping us shine in those moments of darkness, so it’s that experience I want to help others explore”.

If you’re looking for a new yoga studio in the Kingsley area or surrounds, classes with no pressure and a welcoming group of yogi’s - Bloom Yoga is your go-to!
