Keeping it real in our City

Perth Market lovers rejoice! Perth Makers Market is ready to inspire.

Perth Market lovers rejoice!

This May the Perth Makers Market are hosting not one but THREE epic markets stalls.

If you haven’t heard about the Perth Makers Market, they are the ultimate (and I mean ultimate!) market that showcases 100% handmade and locally created items, with all products sold being made here in our beautiful WA.

The Perth Makers Market was created by founder Erin, who as a handmade artist herself, found it super-hard to break into the Perth market scene - especially with so many markets no longer catering to the exclusively handmade. And so she decided to create her own market, where all handmade Perth artists are welcome!

Some of the typical stallholders you will find at the Perth Makers Market includes art, accessories, beauty, candles, clothing, homewares and jewelry. With such a wide range of stallholders, customers are sure to find the absolute perfect find, and with FREE entry, delicious food trucks and live music, a day at the Perth Makers Market is a day well spent!

Just one of the wonderfully unique things about the Perth Makers Market is their ability to provide fundraising and exposure opportunities to local non-profit organisations. This gives
local residents a chance to give back to the community through their support of these charity organisations.

Another unique aspect about the PMM is their constant support for new and emerging artists, talented school students as well as handmade small business owners. The Perth Makers Market host workshops to help others in all aspects of business including advertising, social media management and even product photography!

As I mentioned before, May will be an amazing showcase of what the Perth Makers Market has to offer, with 3 different opportunities to get down and see what they are all about. The first market will be held on Friday the 3 rd of May at Yagan Square in Perth for a special Twilight edition. Make your way into the city via the train (which is an easy minutes walk away!) to soak up the last of the warmer nights from 4-9pm.

The next market will again be held at Yagan Square, this time on Saturday the 11 th of May from 10am-4pm. This is the festive Mother’s Day Market, where you can pick up your last-
minute, one-of-kind gifts for Mum on Sunday! Or perhaps taking Mum into the city to explore the realms of artesian specialties is the perfect gift.

Heathcote Cultural Precinct in Applecross will host the next May market on Sunday the 19 th of May from 9.30am-3.30pm. This is the Perth Makers Market’s usual home, with gorgeous views of the Swan River, over 150 unique stalls and a fantastic pirate ship playground for the rug-rats. Other things on site at the Heathcote Markets are artist open studios, art gallery and museum open, buskers and giant garden games.

If you’re a budding crafter or lover of unique, handmade items, make sure to check out the amazing community that is the Perth Makers Market, where you’re sure to find products that
amaze and delight.

Make sure to tag Perth Happenings in your market day fun, we’d love to see what steals you find!

Cassie Hunter

I’m Cassie, an almost-23-year-old dog mum to one super-naughty jack Russell pup and a Perth girl through and through. One of my favourite places on earth is the beach, having never lived more than a 5-minute drive away!

I have a degree in event management, public relations and tourism and hospitality from Curtin University. My average week consists of planning killer events ranging from charity balls to product launches at the fabulous Known Associates Events. When I’ve got some downtime on my hands you’ll find me lazing around binging the hottest new thang on Netflix or totally engrossed in whatever paperback thriller I can get my hands on.

I absolutely live and breathe events and love getting the latest scoop on what’s happening on Perth. As an event manager myself, I can tell you there’s always something exciting going on in our city!
