Keeping it real in our City

Perth food truck named by Lonely Planet as one of the best in the world

Lonely Planet have just released their latest publication, Around the world in 80 Food Trucks, and local Perth food truck The Acai Corner has been featured.

Founded in 2016 by Maddie Russell and Andrew Moyes, The Acai Corner is a popular haunt amongst Perth locals who are looking to spend their day eating healthy food on South Perth foreshore.

The Acai Corner is the only Perth food truck to make the list, and one of 12 in Australia.

Lonely Planet are showcasing the lives and passions of 80 food truck owners and their recipes.

“We are so excited that the Lonely Planet chose us to be featured, out of tens of thousands of food trucks in the world.” Maddie Russell says.

The Acai Corner is making a splash in the Perth food scene offering a wide variety of acai bowls, which are smoothie bowls topped with fresh fruit, their homemade granola and healthy toppings.

“We are blown away by how many people are trying acai for the first time and getting hooked… there are so many people who are going from not being able to pronounce acai, to coming back every morning for their bowl” Andrew Moyes says.

For the record, it is pronounced ‘ah-sigh-ee’ and it is a fruit from Brazil famous for its richness in antioxidants.

“Perth has one of the best brunch scenes in the world and is always pushing boundaries, and for The Lonely Planet to recognise that, it is super cool.” Russell says.
