Keeping it real in our City

New love for Baldivis - Baldivis Parks

In the last ten years the population of Baldivis exploded. From a quiet suburb south of Perth to a new thriving community with so much to offer!

Baldivis is a semi-rural suburb and is fast becoming a hub for families, as more people choose to make Baldivis their home, and it’s not hard to see why! Being only 15 minutes to the gorgeous Safety Bay and Secret Harbour beaches, a short drive or bus ride to the Warnbro train station and less than an hour to Perth CBD, Baldivis is the perfect location for those wanting a quieter lifestyle while still being close to the action. It is a great spot for families as there are a huge choice of landscaped parks, playgrounds and other fantastic features. There is a Tramway that runs through the suburb that is now a protected nature reserve and Baldivis Children’s Forest is a great spot to take the kids and learn about conservation while getting out into nature.

We were excited to be invited to head along to a local community event run by Baldivis Parks ‘Little Day Out'. Our blogger Leah went to the Little Day Out aimed at children and families and had a ball. As you can see from the photos there is a fantastic community vibe at Baldivis Parks. This was a one off community event but the dedication to community isn’t a flash in the pan.

Baldivis Parks has been masterplanned to include everything that a community could want and need. There is an abundance of natural bushland, parks, open spaces and everything the active family could dream of. As someone with two very active boys, open space is incredibly important. The development has cycleways and walking paths. This makes it so much easier to get into the community, making access to the local sporting clubs (think AFL, soccer, cricket, tennis, little athletics, netball and an Equestrian and Pony Club!) and local shopping centre a journey that doesn’t always require a car ride. If entertainment is your thing you are also close to cinemas, restaurants, cafes and markets plus so much more.

Finally, the parts of the Baldivis Parks Estate that grabbed my attention-

If you have just moved to the area and you want to meet new people and become a part of the community (which is what we at Perth Happenings encourage more than anything!) every morning you can head along to Daintree Park and join in a FREE group fitness class ‘Live Life Get Active!” Yes that’s right, FREE! What better way to meet your neighbours, create a social network and add the side benefit of getting fit!

I mentioned Daintree Park. This is the space where the Little Day Out community event was held. Check out the photos- you will see that this space is gorgeous! There is an awesome playground for the kids, space for a weekend picnic and at the park there are events such as the Lantern Markets in the summer months, and we all know that markets are the hub of community events in 2018!

You may worry that moving to a new estate means no decent coffee in your local area. That certainly makes sense, however, within Baldivis Parks you will find your new local coffee grinder “Brother of Mine.” Straight from their website - 'Serving the community mighty fine brews, local foods and craft beer everyday from 5:30am. Brother of Mine is not only a cafe but a specialty coffee roaster and supplies Cafes around WA'- so you know this is the place you need to be!

Wondering what the next step is and how to become a part of this thriving new community? Head to Baldivis Parks to check out everything on offer and get started on bringing your own piece of paradise into your reality.

Pieta Sharpe

Hi I'm Pieta. I'm the boss lady here at Perth Happenings. I love getting grass roots with people - who, what, when, where, why and how. We have been growing Perth Happenings to support the small local businesses and events that perhaps can't afford large scale exposure and this is my passion.

We work with only locally based businesses so we can keep their families with income, conversely if you work with Perth Happenings you are keeping my children in soccer - it is a win win!

I have a team of amazing bloggers and look forward to introducing them to you - Thanks for supporting us.
